Therapy for Dads

I help dads, particularly those with young kids, navigate relationships and parenting in a way that is authentic and grounded in their values. 

 Are you trying to parent differently than how you were parented? Despite all of your best efforts do you find yourself raising your voice at the kids, withdrawing from your partner or getting upset? Worse, your kids are reflecting your frustration. 

I hear you. As a parent I know first-hand how hard this job is. You try every day to bring your A-game, but you feel like you keep falling short. That's where I come in. 

Imagine having the tools to manage your emotions, connect emotionally with your kids, rekindle the connection with your partner, and best of all feel proud of the way you’re parenting. 

I use a collaborative approach rooted in mindfulness and attachment to help dads explore their thoughts and behaviors, gain a deeper understanding of themselves and keep themselves accountable so that they can strengthen their most important relationships and feel better.

Why dads, you ask? I've spent nearly a decade working at the VA with retired service members, mostly millennial men, who are navigating fatherhood and relationships. The role of the modern dad is shifting. Where dads used to primarily focus on financially providing for their families, now they are also focused on supporting them emotionally, trying to instill kindness and empathy in their children and create balance for their partners. I love this work because I see such meaningful impact on both a micro and macro scale, creating strong relationships within families that then echo throughout the larger community.

Psychological Evaluation: I help high-achieving millennial dads explore their possible neurodiversity through ADHD and Autism testing.
