Hi there, I'm happy you're here.

I have over ten years of experience providing telehealth, including research and program development in telehealth. I have found that telehealth is as, if not more, effective than in-person care and as such, I only provide services using telehealth.
With a background in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) I help couples gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and how these emotions shape interactions with others. I guide couples to recognize patterns, express their needs, and respond to others in ways that build closeness and trust, leading to greater emotional balance and stronger relationships.
My approach to therapy is present-focused and person-centered which allows me to walk alongside my clients as we navigate their challenges together, building skillfulness and resilience along the way. I provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches for the treatment of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal problems.
As a psychologist, I use my training in assessment to inform care. I offer psychological testing by itself or as part of psychotherapeutic treatment. Assessments could include cognitive functioning, diagnostic assessment or measurement-based care.
I have had diverse experiences as a therapist, working in community clinics, hospitals, integrated care settings and the Veterans Health Administration. In addition to my clinical work, I have done research on suicide prevention, LGBTQ-health and cultural impact on mental health.

EFT is a proven and effective approach to strengthening emotional connections with yourself and others. It focuses on understanding and using emotions to create lasting change in relationships and personal well-being. When our emotional bonds are strong, we feel more confident, connected, and resilient.
ACT helps people learn strategies to live life more in the present, more focused on important values and goals. It teaches people how to engage with and overcome painful thoughts and feelings through acceptance and mindfulness techniques, to develop self-compassion and flexibility, and to build life-enhancing patterns of behavior.
CPT is a specific type of cognitive behavioral therapy designed to help individuals who have experienced trauma, particularly those suffering from PTSD. CPT helps to challenge and modify the unhelpful beliefs and thought patterns related to traumatic experiences, allowing for more effective trauma processing.
Also called Evidence-Based-Psychotherapies (EBP) is a short-hand to describe treatments that have been rigorously tested to ensure that they work. In order to provide EBP's, a therapist has to engage in extensive training and supervision and this process often leads to certification in the particular therapy. I have been trained in a range of different EBP's so that I am able to adapt my approach to my clients while providing the highest standard of care.
I use assessment and self-report outcome measures to help us track how you are doing and whether the approach that we are using is helpful to you. Typically, this involves a thorough initial assessment to establish a starting point and periodic online questionnaires to track symptoms, problems or experiences. In some cases, we may determine that more extensive diagnostic assessment is needed to inform our plan for treatment.
While I do work with families, I do not work with children individually as this is not my area of training or specialization. If substance-use or crisis-stabilization is the primary concern, my services may not be appropriate. Please reach out if you have questions about this or would like help with a referral to appropriate services.
I am licensed in three states, California, Oregon and Indiana, so I can only see people who live in one of these three states.
I do not accept insurance at this time, but I provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance provider. Reimbursement rates may vary based on your insurance coverage, so it is important to contact your insurance company to learn more about their reimbursement rates.
You can schedule an appointment by calling me or sending me a message. I offer a free 15-minute consultation before scheduling an initial appointment, where you can ask me any questions about my practice, and I can get a sense of what you hope to work on.
